The Foundation has two types of grants available:
Foundation Defined Grants
Foundation Defined Grants (FDGs) are awarded to address certain health priorities determined by HCF. Currently, there are three funding priorities: Safety Net Health Care, Healthy Lifestyles and Mental Health. FDGs are issued to organizations through a process called Requests for Proposals (RFPs). RFPs will be issued at various times during the year. Dates are posted on HCF’s website and through media at various times during the year. Organizations are allowed to submit only one proposal per RFP as the lead organization. Hospitals, universities, affiliated foundations and sponsored research organizations may submit two applications for Foundation Defined Grants (FDGs).
Applicant Defined Grants
Each year, HCF sets aside a limited amount of to fund proposals that are based upon applicants’ determination of a need and consistent with the target population and service area. These grants are called Applicant Defined Grants (ADGs). Applications will be accepted and reviewed on a regular basis throughout the year with funding decisions made usually within four to eight weeks after receipt of proposal. Organizations are allowed to submit only one applicant defined proposal per calendar year. The maximum amount that can be requested for this type of proposal is $75,000.
Note :
Grant seekers are encouraged to carefully review HCF funding before submitting a funding request. We realize that seeking funds can be a time-consuming and sometimes difficult process. Unfortunately the foundation will be able to fund only a small percentage of the requests we receive because of limited financial resources.
